I have been a full time professional dancer for most of my life. Whilst competing my late wife and I won the Welsh National Ballroom Championship and the West of England Championship. I am qualified in Ballroom, Latin and Old Time - IMPTD and UKA, I am also a Championship Adjudicator and have danced many times in the past on Come Dancing!
Many years ago my late wife and I worked for the Union Castle Shipping Line for a
period of four years teaching and demonstrating. We gave class lessons to passengers
and private lessons to the Officers, who, in those days were expected to partner
passengers on board. Following this I bought my own dancing school in my home town in Wales and ran it for 25 years. When my wife past away I sold my school and retired. I thought I would never dance again but then, several years later I took a Mediterranean cruise on the “Braemar” with friends and family and met Vaughan, who is now my dancing partner, fiancé and life partner! Vaughan is a lovely dancer, both of her children having danced competitively. We have been working with Dance Afloat for approximately two years enjoy the company of passengers and travel tremdendously. We say “long may it continue”!!
