Geoff and Lyn met at a dance school in London in the 1960’s where they completed their ISTD medallist courses in Ballroom and Latin American dance. After this they were trained by Peggy Spencer at the Royston Ballroom in Penge. They now live in a village in North Essex.
They married in 1965 and have two sons (and one of them is at last learning to dance)! Before retirement from the business world, Geoff was a European Marketing Manager and Lyn was a Property Investment Manager.
They have cruised for the past 15 years and like to sail north in the summer and south to the sunshine in the winter. It was while they were on Fred Olsen’s Boudicca that the dance host team suggested they should contact Dance Afloat.
When they are at home a typical week includes Ballroom and Latin American dancing plus Line Dance, CEROC Jive, Argentine Tango and Sequence.
…and finally, one of Lyn’s claims to fame is her shoe collection (200+ pairs) – which is why airline baggage allowances are never big enough!
Learning to dance is good for your mind, your body and your social life – but above all, Geoff and Lyn believe dancing should be fun…
